As we continue our work to discover what "Harmony" means to us, the students reflected in their journals using the definition "To come together in agreement" and "Blending together as one" as a starting point. They were given the task to add to that definition with words and phrases and to create a symbol or icon to represent our community of learners.
A student in our class has sparked a conversation about sharing knowledge with others. We have many students who would like to be able to share knowledge about topics that are interesting to them. As a class, we decided that it would be best if they were to share their work with us digitally so we can display it on the Smartboard in the classroom for all. If your child is interested in this, they could create a Google Slide using their educbe account and share it with their teacher mohuebner@educbe.ca or njcox@educbe.ca. If they are not familiar with Google Slides or do not have an account yet, they could email a document, photograph or video of their work to us at mohuebner@cbe.ab.ca and njcox@cbe.ab.ca. We look forward to sharing your interests and learning with the class!
We finished up learning about increasing patterns and then we had a chance to make one of our own. The criteria was to use at least 5 different sounds and after each new part, another new sound was added.
First, we experimented...
Then, we shared our creations...
We spent sometime reading today as well. We are learning routines and getting back into the Daily 5.
