Grade 4s only....
Eric Harvie Peace Ambassadors 2020-21
The Eric Harvie Peace Ambassadors offers grade 4 students a leadership opportunity in our school community, that supports our focus on “Building Peaceful Communities Together”. We aim to develop peace making skills and challenge students to “make a difference.” The club is a year-long commitment, running from November to June for this year. Students may “try out” the club for the first three weeks and we will ask for final commitment at that time.
In order to run the club in a Covid-friendly manner, we will meet in the gym, having each cohort sit in their own section. We will ensure that students come and go from the club safely. As we progress through the year we will adjust based on current rules and expectations.
Participation as a Peace Ambassador will aim to offer opportunities in the following areas:
Building an understanding of student leadership
Assisting in the development of a Peaceful Problem Solving Process and modeling it for others
Leading Peaceful Problem Solving Process on the playground (hoping for this one at some point!)
Teaching games and activities
Assisting with special events at Eric Harvie school
Participating in various school and community service projects
Acting as school ambassadors for visitors and special events
If you are interested in joining our Peace Ambassador team for this school year, please come prepared to meet on Mondays at days at lunch. If you usually go home for lunch, you will need to bring a lunch on Mondays.
