Our first walk is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25

We will be planning to go into the coulee a number of times over the next few weeks to study animal-made structures and work on a poetry project.  We will likely leave before the lunch hour is over so that we can get further into the coulee and have time to work on our projects.

Students who are not dressed with proper winter clothing will need to stay back at the school to ensure they are safe from frost bite.

We will not allow students wearing only running shoes and students without warm gloves or mittens to come with us and they will need to stay at the office as they can't join other classes at this time.

Pink Shirt Day is on Wednesday!

Minds on today was a review activity around congruent shapes, where students had to identify which shapes were congruent and which ones weren't.  We then moved into symmetry and were challenged to draw lines of symmetry across specific shapes.  How many lines of symmetry are there on a rectangle?

The students all had an opportunity today to explore the program Tinkercad.  The class was given a username and class code (check Google Classroom) and time to explore the shapes and space.

Our afternoon was all about visual sketch noting and animal structures.  We have learned that animals build structures for 3 purposes; Shelter, food storage and communication.  This learning will continue as we explore the animal structures in the coulee on Thursday.
