We'd like to say a very big thank you to all of the families who took the time to join us for the Student/Parent/Teacher conferences last Thursday and Friday. We really enjoyed having the opportunity to talk to you about all of the amazing work our students have been working on lately.
This morning we continued to build our understanding of area and perimeter. We used blocks and were given the task to create as many different shapes with an area of 30. Our minds on was a problem where the students had to find the total area of a garden and then how many plants could be planted. We were so impressed with the students' solutions to the problem.
For literacy today, the students are continuing their comparative writing. Today they got to choose their own two topics to compare and then followed the same template to write their paragraphs including hook, similarities, differences and their conclusion..
This afternoon, Mr. Papp and Miss Shivi began to teach the students about hearing and sound. They began by discussing sound and hearing, finding out what the students know, labelling the diagram of the ear and then finished off with a sound walk outside to listen to outdoor sounds.
