Coulee Walk - Wednesday All Day, Thursday AM (weather permitting)

We had a lovely walk to the coulee today!  We read a story about a young weaver from Guatemala who wanted to earn money to go to school.  We are talking about fair trade and economy of countries around the world.   The students collected their own branch and then used yarn that was donated from Beighley's family to begin our own weaving.  We'd like to say a huge thank you to Beighley's family for the much appreciated donation!  I think we'll have enough yarn to last use a number of years!

We were fortunate enough, while walking, to observe a moose grazing in the coulee.  He or she was curious about us so we watched quietly as it went on it's way.

While learning about time, the students inquired into sun dials and how we can use direction and a shadow cast from the sun to tell the approximate time.  We were surprised when we stood on a compass rose in Tuscany about how accurate the shadow we cast was.
